Career Guidance and Employability Cell (CGEC) POLICY

This policy is formulated with the objective of providing the students of Ashoka Business School (ABS) the opportunity to hone their employability skills and get placement assistance through the Training and CGEC of ABS. This Policy is same for each &every student of Ashoka Business School.

The scope of activities for CGEC of ABS is divided into two parts as follows-

A. TRAINING –

  • The training sessions will be planned and organized as per the skill gap identified by CGEC.
  • All students are required to participate in workshops/ training programs organized by CGEC.
  • Students must undergo soft skill, communication skill and employability enhancement and personality development trainings organized/recommended by CGEC.

B. PLACEMENT-

    I. Eligibility-

  • a. Students having minimum prescribed percentage of attendance in the classes alone will be eligible for assistance through the CGEC.
  • b. Students must have attended all the training sessions organized/recommended by the CGE

    II. Important points to note-

  • Students must complete all the tasks/exercises assigned by CGEC from time to time.
  • Students must register themselves with the CGEC clearly mentioning their preferences. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
  • One student is allowed to give three interviews through campus placements. If student accepts any offer and joins the company, she/he won’t be allowed to appear for further interviews. However he/she will be given one more opportunity if package difference is more than Rs. 200000/ per annum.
  • The opportunity will be provided as per the requirement of the company and the students’ profile and skill sets.
  • Students who do not appear for two scheduled interviews will not be allowed for the any further placement opportunity.
  • Every company (off campus/ in campus) has its own requirements and vacancies to which student should apply accordingly.
  • The pre-placement talk will be conducted before every placement drive and students must attend the same before appearing for the interviews.
  • All placement notices will be displayed on notice board of CGEC. Considering COVID restrictions, notices could be shared on What’s App/mails. And it will be students’ responsibility to read and comply with the same.
  • It is mandatory for the student to consult with the TPO/Head-CGEC and inform the same in written, in case of accepting, rejecting the offer or cancellation of the same.
  • Student must follow the code of conduct and discipline as expected by the concerned company during the campus drive and even after the placement. In case of any violation of the same may result in disciplinary action from the Institute and the concerned company.

    III. Some important points during placement drive-

    1. Students must follow below points whenever they participate in any placement drive (incampus/off campus).

    • Strictly Formal attire
    • College ID card
    • Resume hard copy and soft copy (Minimum 3)
    • Passport size photo (3 Nos.)
    • Academic and other credentials in original and 2 sets of photocopies
    • Pen, Pencil, Gum stick, Stapler and blank pages

    2. Student should not directly communicate with the company persons. He/ She must discuss with the TPO in case of any queries.
