Industry Internship

POLICY FOR SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROJECT (SIP)

SIP is an important phase for management students to into corporates.

Internships usually take place during the summer between the first and second years of a full-time MBA program. As per the curriculum, duration for Summer internships is 8 weeks for full-time MBA degree.

The internship gives an opportunity to work with the industry and gain insights into the real life situation, where the theoretical knowledge is authenticated with the practical knowledge.

While doing internship, students get real time exposure. This practice leads to identify the gaps and work upon the same. The ultimate outcome of this exercise is gaining self-confidence and being industry ready.

Being in contact with experienced professionals will also help the students to develop their knowledge, competencies and experiences which are help them to achieve their career goals.

It is mandatory practice by the University and also has to be assessed by the internal as well as the external team, of experts.

POLICY GUIDELINES:

  • Students must attend SIP orientation conducted by TPO & concerned faculty for information about Internship.
  • Internship will be provided by Training and Placement Cell or students have to search for themselves.
  • Registration form is compulsory to fill.
  • Every student will get two opportunities for an Interview for internship.
  • Once student accepts the offer made by a company and joins the same, it is compulsory for the student to complete the internship with the same company. However in any unavoidable circumstances it can be discussed case wise in consultation with Guide, TPO and the Director.
  • Students must join the company within 2days of accepting the offer.
  • Students joining for internship without intimating the TPO will not be allowed to continue the internship for that semester.
  • Students are free to join the internship in the Industry of their choice but only after consulting the TPO.
  • It is mandatory for the student to consult with the TPO and inform the same in written, in case of accepting, rejecting the offer or cancellation of the internship.

  • Students are expected to read the instructions and guidelines prescribed by the University for Internship and follow the same.
