IQAC QUALITY POLICY, VISION, MISSION

Introduction

  • In pursuance of its action plan for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up gradation of institutions of higher education, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru proposes that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a vital part of the institution’s quality assurance system and work towards ensuring quality enhancement and sustenance.
  • The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of its institution. For this, during the post-accreditation period, institutions need to channelize their efforts towards promoting holistic academic excellence including the implementation of peer team’s recommendations.
  • The guidelines provided in the following pages will facilitate the institution in the creation and operation of the IQAC. The establishment of the IQAC is the first step towards institutionalization and internalization of quality enhancement initiatives. Its success depends on its sense of belongingness and participation in all the activities of the institution.

QUALITY POLICY OF THE IQAC

  • The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college is primarily focused in internal quality. AICTE and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) have laid the onus of quality enhancement of colleges on the IQAC. The primary objective of the IQAC is to look into rather than at the college processes with a perspective of providing quality to all the stakeholders.
  • Understanding the significance of Internal Quality Assurance Systems (IQAS), the IQAC has attempted over the years to systemize processes through which quality enhancement can be achieved. The IQAC has also perceived that quality enhancement initiatives need to be decentralized, rather than nodal, with several activity heads being appointed and each deploying their activities as a separate team.
  • The college IQAC quality policy for all stakeholders is "Empowerment through Engagement: Creating a culture of inclusion by inviting and embracing the valuable contributions of every individual. This policy ensures that all the stakeholders, mainly the staff and the students involve themselves in all activities of the college during their tenure.
  • In practical terms, "Empowerment through Engagement" might involve providing opportunities for individuals from different backgrounds to collaborate, contribute to decision-making processes, and actively participate in social, educational, or professional activities. This approach recognizes the unique strengths and perspectives that each person brings to the table, enriching the overall experience for everyone involved.

  • To internalize, build and ensure a transformative quality culture with conscious, reliable and transparent efforts by seamlessly integrating self and external quality evaluations for sustaining excellence in its academic, administrative practices to set benchmarks for their periodic evaluation.
